May and June were months of many changes when it comes to how I use Medium.

I created a brand new Medium account in May and decided the old Medium account will be reserved for creative writing while I publish content (stuff you’re used to seeing from me—writing related to content marketing, online income, audience building, etc.) on the new account.

These changes meant that I was now splitting time between two Medium accounts!

Thankfully, I can write content pretty fast these days. It’s the creative stuff that I struggle with.

The reason behind a second Medium account was partly because I wanted to split my creative and content writing on Medium, and also because I wanted to see if I can get 100 followers in 2023 using the same methods I’ve been teaching you all: by publishing regularly, publishing quality content, joining a few good pubs, etc.

June 2023 income & stats (for Medium # 1)

May was decent in terms of audience growth and income on my old Medium account (I’m calling it Medium #1). But things dropped again in June because of the changes I made. But that’s OK. It was expected.

Here’s a quick look at how things went on Medium # 1:

• Stories published: 6
• Follower change: +26
• Net followers: 2,606
• Referred member change: 0
• Net referred members: 11
• Earnings from stories: $24.19
• Earnings from referred members: $24.19
• Total earnings: $48.38

Going forward

Things will be different as I try to maintain two separate Medium accounts. I’m not yet sure how, but that’s for me to figure out in the coming weeks. I’m assuming how I do these monthly reports will change also. In the meantime, I’m ready to share my brand new Medium account with you all 🙂

I refrained from doing so before because I wanted the first 100 followers to be organic, without help from my existing audience. I wanted this experience to be exactly like a brand-new user.

And I’m glad to report that I still managed to get my first 100 followers in just under two months, and even got on the Partner Program!
