Episode Summary

Many people ask me about how to create the perfect course or product.

The answer is, there is no way of doing that.

If you’re a perfectionist and you’re waiting to put out your product until it is perfect, you may just be waiting forever.

Instead, focus on doing the best you can today. Create the best product you can today. It may not be perfect, but that’s OK. As long as it is a good enough product, as long as you’re sure that the content of your product — a course or a webinar or a blog post or a podcast, or whatever have you, has enough value to help your audience, it is good enough.

And “good enough” is a great place to be in.

Having something good enough means you’re now able to help someone else with your product. And that’s great! Put your product out there and start helping your audience now.

The thing you need to understand is that you can always come back and make things better later. If you put a course out today, you can always come back and add more lessons, or add a new and improved video or audio clip.

What you need to be a successful content creator (in the form of a blogger or a course creator or a podcaster of blogger) is not perfection from day-1, but the attitude to always try and make things better as you go. Perfectionism doesn’t happen overnight. In the beginning, you should be focusing on making something that’s good enough.
